Placing sculptural pieces in a real room
A collection built around organic, rounded silhouettes reads differently depending on how much breathing room it gets. A few practical rules to work from before a piece is ordered:

Both Lulu Armchair finishes are solid wood, cared for the same way as every other timber piece at The
Design House: keep acidic substances like wine, coffee and citrus off the surface and use coasters,
wipe spills immediately with a damp cotton cloth rather than harsh chemicals, and keep the piece out of
direct sunlight and away from humidity to prevent warping. Solid wood also shifts tone gradually with
light exposure over time. Lighter woods like Oak tend to darken slightly, while darker woods like Walnut
tend to lighten, a natural ageing rather than a defect.
